OAK TREE: The oak tree at the entrance has been removed. For the past three years an arborist has been feeding the tree to try and save it. The time had come for it to be brought down. The tree was over 60% dead and we were told by several tree companies over the years that the tree is a hazard and liability. We still tried everything possible to save it. The last storms we had brought limbs 6" in diameter to the ground. We can longer take the risk of injuring someone or someone else's property and having the HOA involved in a suit of negligence. Thus, the Board made the difficult decision to remove the tree. There is no doubt the trees, and that one in particular, make Chestnut Oaks what it is. We do plan to explore the possibilities of planting another tree in the same area. Hopefully one that has some maturity that will cut down the growing time. Cost issues may prohibit that from happening, but we will try.
Pool Gate: As a reminder to all, the pool pass card system was installed for a number of reasons. The main one being that only residents could use the pool who are in good standing. Over the past weekend we had a homeowner from another community come down with his 4 children aging 3-11 years. Since the father had all the swim equipment with him he asked a homeowner to let him in. The homeowner asked where his card was. He said he had left it at home. Feeling sorry for them, they were let in. The youngest child fell off a chair and hurt himself. HOMEOWNERS-PLEASE DO NOT LET ANYONE INTO THE POOL EVEN IF YOU KNOW THEM, EVEN MORE SO IF YOU DON'T KNOW THEM!!! THE GATE IS FIXED AND THE CARDS ARE WORKING. PLEASE BE SURE THE GATE IS SECURE WHEN YOU LEAVE. DO NOT HOLD THE GATE OPEN SO SOMEONE ELSE CAN GET IN. THEY MUST USE THEIR CARD! THERE IS A REASON WHY SOME CARDS DO NOT WORK. LET THEM KNOW THAT THEY NEED TO CALL BRAESAEL ABOUT IT. Children under 14 are not allowed with out their parents nor are they to have guests without the parents being there. If you do let someone in, your card can be disabled for not complying to the rules. To those of you who are following the rules-THANK YOU! It is your pool, you pay for it, so if you see something that is against the rules, like running, bring it to the parents attention. If they are trespassing call the police.
