Social/Beautification Committee

The Social/Beautification Committee was formed in February 2010 and serves the Chestnut Oaks community by bringing everyone together through events and social awareness.

Mission Statement

Develop, plan and initiate social events, coordinate beautification efforts, and undertake projects and activities that will enhance and benefit the Chestnut Oaks community.

Goals

• Foster a cohesive community by organizing fun, interesting events for the entire community so neighbors can meet and socialize.
• Enhance community appearance and beauty.
• Grow and strengthen pride in our community and the sense of belonging by welcoming all residents

National Night Out - Tuesday, August 3rd

Chestnut Oaks is participating in National-Neighborhood Night Out (NNO) which is an annual, nationwide event that happens the first Tuesday in August. The night is geared towards strengthening neighborhood spirit and police-community partnership. We are encouraging our neighbors to get together by holding a Potluck Supper which will start at 6:30 p.m. at the clubhouse on August 3rd. The Stallings Fire & Police Departments will have a truck and car come by and the children are encouraged to climb aboard the fire truck for a peek. Grab a plate and get to know your neighbors a little better. Let’s send a message to criminals that our neighborhood is organized and fighting back.

Hot dogs and buns will be provided by the HOA.

Below are suggestions for covered dishes and items by street:

• Bungalow - paper products (cups, napkins, utensils, plates)
• Craftsman Ridge - desserts
• St. John's – condiments for hot dogs
  
• Holly Grove - vegetables
• Ivy Brook - fruits
• Gainsborough - non-meat side dishes (casserole, macaroni and cheese, etc.)
• Gable Way - drinks and ice
